Oceanside RCMP have released the name of a man suspected of robbing a Parksville gas station on June 30.

The incident happened just before midnight when police received a call about a robbery in progress at the Chevron station on Alberni Highway. Responding to the scene, officers were able to identify the suspect a short distance from the gas station, thanks to what they termed an excellent description of the man in question from witnesses at the scene.

Police say no weapons were involved and the suspect, 30-year-old Ronald Moore was charged with one count of robbery and has been remanded in custody until his court date, slated for July 8 in B.C. Provincial Court in Nanaimo.
