Catch the final evening of music on Wed., Oct. 7, featuring the VVQ Trio’s classical selections at non at TOSH in Qualicum Beach
Music fans have undoubtedly already been wowed by performances at the Harvest of Music in Qualicum Beach, but there’s still time to catch more of the fest that ends its run at The Old School House arts centre tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 7).
Today the festival features a concert with the father and son jazz duo of Phil and Ben Dwyer at noon, with admission just $5. That’s followed tonight by a quintet jazz performance in tribute to the great jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery.
On Wednesday things wrap up with an evening concert at 7 p.m. featuring a smorgasbord of artists who have participated in this year’s Harvest of Music.
Preceding that is a noon concert (again only $5) with the classical strains of the VVQ Trio playing works by Beethoven, Haydn and Piazzolla. The group includes Qualicum Beach clarinetist Liam Hockley, now in his third year at the University of Victoria School of Music; respected Victoria organist, accordionist, composer and pianist Tony Booker and Vancouver double bassist Wilmer Fawcett, a founding member of the salon music group, Viveza recently retired as principal bassist with the CBC Vancouver Orchestra.
For tickets visit TOSH or call 250-752-6133.
