The V.I. Raiders have put themselves in position for another perfect 10.

Nanaimo’s Canadian Junior Football League team defeated the Okanagan Sun 43-3 Sunday in Kelowna to improve to 9-0 in 2009. The Raiders can finish the regular season undefeated if they can handle the Chilliwack Huskers (3-6) on the road this Sunday (Oct. 18).

The Raiders’ huge victory in the Okanagan was a record-setter, as the Sun had never suffered a more lopsided home loss.

The visitors did most of their damage in the second half. The game was close until two seconds before halftime, when quarterback Jordan Yantz found tailback Andrew Harris for a TD reception to make it a 14-3 game.

Harris finished with two TD catches and one rushing TD, gaining 116 rush yards on 18 carries.

Yantz was 17-for-26 passing for 375 yards, three TDs and an interception and also had a rushing TD.

Jared Ralko caught a TD pass and Jordan Botel scored a rushing TD.

Linebacker Lucas Desmet had a game-high seven tackles and an interception, DB Prashant Chaube also had a pick and defensive lineman Greg Akinola had two sacks and a fumble recovery.
