Air quality alert lifted

Stifling hot air built up over the past two weeks is in the process of being replaced by cooler, fresher air, resulting in an improvement in air quality.
That has prompted the Ministry of the Environment to lift its air quality advisory for east Vancouver Island from Nanaimo to Campbell River.
Concentrations of particulate matter, caused by forest fires burning on Vancouver Island, have been reduced, as has ground level ozone.
