Al Abbott, owner of the Nanaimo’s Canadian Tire, has received national recognition for his commitment to excellence.
Abbott and four of his store associates were honoured with the Canadian Tire Award of Excellence, the company’s top national award. Abbott has worked for Canadian Tire for 34 years and was recognized for his dedication to his team, store, customers and community.
“Al is a leader who empowers his team to be the best they can be and the dedication of his long-time store employees is testament to the kind of man he is,” says Peter Kilty, Canadian Tire spokesman.
Abbott started his career with Canadian Tire in Port Hope, Ont. in 1975 and moved to Nanaimo 14 years ago.
