Youth parliament seeks recruits
B.C. Youth Parliament needs 95 young men and women for projects benefiting today’s youth.
Participants would visit the B.C. Legislature over the December holiday season and debate a variety of service projects in place for 2010.
Projects include a week-long summer camp for underprivileged children, partnerships with community service organizations, regional model parliaments and individual youth volunteer projects.
Applicants must be between 16-21 years old; a resident of B.C. for the past year; be able to commit to one year of service and be interested in how the democratic system works.
Application forms and informational and promotional materials for the British Columbia Youth Parliament are now available at www.bcyp.org.
Nominations close Oct. 31.
