NANAIMO Ambassador

Seven contestants compete for the honour to be Miss Nanaimo Ambassador.
The 64th annual program is set for Saturday (Sept. 19) at Malaspina Theatre at Vancouver Island University.
The Nanaimo Ambassador Program is open to any young women between the ages of 16-19. During the past five months, the seven young women participated in life skill training such as leadership, etiquette, financial planning, public speaking, basic automotive repairs, as well as volunteering at numerous community events.
Judges will choose the 2009 Miss Nanaimo Ambassador as well as a vice-ambassador to represent Nanaimo at events throughout the province. All contestants are eligible to receive sponsor bursaries and the winning team will receive additional scholarships at the completion of their term.
The public is welcome to attend the show and watch the crowning of the new ambassadors.
Tickets $20 at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
