Restaurateur expands business

Nanaimo McDonald’s owners, Wayne and Brenda Krawchuk, are expanding their business holdings in central Vancouver Island.

The Krawchuks have operated five restaurants in Nanaimo since April 2008 and now own two more of the franchises in Duncan and one each in Ladysmith and Mill Bay.

Krawchuk’s career with McDonald’s began in 1979 when he worked as a crew member and stops have included accounting at the Vancouver McDonald’s office, director of strategic planning in Toronto, a senior director at McDonald’s headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill., and most recently, vice-president of business strategy and insights in the United Kingdom.
