The boys’ soccer team from Palsson Elementary School in Lake Cowichan played well in a district wide tournament in Duncan recently.

The Cowichan Valley School District Junior Boys Soccer Tournament was held October 19 at Alexander Elementary and Palsson won two games, tied two games and lost just one.

The game the boys lost was to Maple Bay, who scored in the last minute of play for a 1-0 result.

Games were 25 minutes long with no off-sides. Students rotated through most of the positions, playing five to 10 minute shifts.

Parker Bergstrom scored three goals, with one assisted by Nic Brown, while Conner Mullin scored one goal.

Owen Harvey was a force in the net. The team showed remarkable skill and sportsmanship and represented their school very well.  “
