Soccer league on for season

Mid Island United SC came out with a strong win last weekend in Vancouver Island Soccer League play.

The team walked over the Vantreights side Sunday, Oct. 5 in Victoria. The final score was 3-1 with two goals from Mark Brown Jr. and a penalty goal from Travis Brown.

Team manager Stephanie Harris said the Mid Island squad had a good game with lots of ball movement. And although some of the players are still nursing injuries, the team pulled out the victory without any substitutions, she added.

The win brings the team’s record to two wins and two losses in the first four games of the season. Mid Island United SC is now ranked fourth in VISL division 5b.

Its next game is at home Friday, Oct. 10 against Simba United SC.
