Capitals lose again
Published: October 06, 2008 5:00 PMThe Cowichan Valley Capitals had another meltdown during a B.C. Hockey League game at Victoria Friday night.
The Caps led the Grizzlies 1-0 after the first period and only trailed 3-2 after the second when their recently-characteristic collapse occurred.
The Caps gave up five goals in 13 minutes in the third, trapping them to an eventual 8-3 loss.
The combined defensive play of the goalies, defencemen and forwards has been poor of late for the Caps. Aside from a 6-1 trouncing of the Quesnel Millionaires that salvaged some pride, the Caps have recently given up seven goals to the Langley Chiefs, eight to the Powell River Kings and now eight more to the Grizzlies.

If numbers like that continue, the Caps are not going to fare too well in the highly-competitive Island Division.
Taylor Holst (2) and Kevin Walrod scored the goals in Victoria for the defensively-challenged Caps.
Next action is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when the high-flying Chiefs make their final visit to Cowichan Arena this season.
