Extremely poisonous mushrooms found in Ladysmith

Mushrooms known as Fly agaric have been spotted in a yard along Malone Road, according to Ladysmith municipal staff. The mushrooms are highly toxic and can kill an animal and cause serious illness in people. Symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting, mouth dryness and an accelerated heart rate. Symptoms appear in less than four hours.
If you see one of these mushrooms, contact Ladysmith public works at 250-245-6448 but don't touch it. Watch for more information in Tuesday's edition of The Chronicle.
