Missing woman located

A missing Ladysmith woman was found hours after she failed to show up for an appointment.

On Sept. 4, at 8 p.m., Ladysmith RCMP were alerted that an 84 year old woman had missed a meeting with her son at 4 p.m.

RCMP was lead to believe the woman went into the wooded area near the 3000 block of Yellow Point Road.

After a five hour search with Nanaimo Police Services Dog Unit and Ladysmith Search and Rescue, the woman was located.

She was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with minor injuries, as a precautionary measure.
