What do you know about VIU? And how can VIU help build Ladysmith’s economy?
On Wednesday, September 23rd, the Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce presents its members an opportunity to get to know its local university. Come and hear Vancouver Island University president Ralph Nilson speak about the future of VIU and what it means for businesses and families in Ladysmith.
This special evening event will be held at VIU’s Nanaimo campus, with a dinner prepared by VIU’s award-winning Culinary Arts program. For those able to arrive early, there will be a tour of the campus provided.
Vancouver Island University is the first option for many Ladysmith high school graduates. It is also a major employer and economic engine for our region. Its research programs drive innovation in areas such as tourism and shellfish. VIU also has the highest number of First Nations students of any university in BC.
There are only 60 seats available for this event. Sign up early and, if you have a VIU student in your family, bring him or her along.
Cost: $30 per ticket; $25 per student.
Time: 6:00pm
Location: Arbutus Room at Vancouver Island University
