Senior soccer sides struggle, U15 Silver girls remain undefeated with an 8-0 win

Goalie Kevin James, pictured, and his Cowichan Sussex Insurance Div. 1 Island Soccer League teammates are back in action against Bays United Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Sherman Road Park.

Their game against Sooke last weekend was postponed while Div. 2 Sports Traders fell 2-0 to Juan de Fuca and Craig Street Brew Pub Masters A lost 5-4 to Vic West.

Sooke beat Cowichan United 6-0 in Div. 1 women’s play, Cowichan Div. 2 lost 3-0 to Castaways and Leon Signs Over 30 B beat Bays United Breakers 2-0.

Boys’ youth scores were: U13 Silver — Gorge United 5, Cowichan 2; U14 Gold — Lakehill 3, Cowichan 1; U15 Gold — Cordova Bay 3, Cowichan 1; U15 Silver — Cowichan 1, Prospect Lake 1; U16 Silver — Bays 5, Cowichan 2; U17 Gold — Gordon Head 4, Cowichan 1; U18 Gold — Cowichan Wolves 5, Cordova Bay/Gordon Head 1.

Girls’ scores were: U13 Silver — Peninsula 3, Cowichan 0; U14 Gold — Gordon Head 2, Cowichan 1; U15 Silver — Cowichan 8, Gorge 0.
