Drayson Price is money in the bank for the Cowichan Junior Bantam Bulldogs’ whenever he’s on the football field.

When the going gets tough, coach Jeff McDonald knows he can count on Price, 12, a Grade 8 student at George Bonner Middle School, to make it right.

“Drayson is a great player,’’ McDonald said of the Shawnigan Lake resident, who plays in the backfield on offense and middle linebacker on defence.

“He plays tough football and hits a ton. He is very coachable and very eager to learn — a true team player who puts team first.’’

Price has exhibited a talent for football from the beginning.

“I ended up trying it and I love it,’’ he said.

Price has played a total of five seasons of football so far between spring and fall leagues.
