Cowichan Golf & Country Club’s Stormin’ Norm Jackson has taken the Professional Golfers’ Association of B.C. by storm again.
Jackson, who took over at Cowichan in 1990, is the first person ever named Head Professional of the Year in B.C. twice. The last time was in 1993.
“Unbelievable. It truly is,’’ said Jackson, who has also become prominent as an emcee of numerous community events such as the Wall of Fame, below.
“It just kind of blows you away, actually.’’
The award, presented in Penticton, is based on numerous criteria, including service to the community and the PGA. Cowichan has also been named PGA of B.C. golf shop of the year twice in 2008 and 1997. Regional PING fitter of the year awards have belonged to Cowichan every year since 2002, with national PING awards in ‘03 and ‘05.
