Same fate for struggling Caps
Cowichan Valley Capitals' Rajan Sidhu sticks to Langley's Brad Bakken like glue Saturday night.

It was deja vu all over again Saturday night for the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
In a mirror image to Friday's B.C. Hockey League game in Victoria, the Caps twice held the lead on the Langley Chiefs at Cowichan Arena and ended up losing 4-3. The score and the scenario were both the same as the night before against the Grizzlies.
In fact, the Caps have now lost four of their first six games by the same 4-3 score — including an overtime encounter against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
"There's a frustration in it, for sure,'' said Caps' coach Scott Robinson of the outcomes.
"Our strength has got to stem from our defensive play.''
The Caps were guilty of giving up odd-man rushes late in both games and paid for it dearly.
Colton Beck scored the winning goal with just 6:39 left in regulation time. The night before, Victoria's Joel Lowry inflicted the deadly blow with only 3:36 remaining.
Other than an early goal allowed to Josh Myers and the winner by Beck in the late stages, the Caps clearly deserved a better fate against the rough, tough Chiefs, who looked more like coach Harvey Smyl's old teams in Chilliwack.
The Caps went on the power play 10 times compared to just five for the Chiefs.
They buzzed all around the net with numerous shots - many that missed the net - and only cashed in one power play goal by Caps' rookie defenceman Rajan Sidhu.
It's just a matter of sticking with it, the six-foot-three Sidhu said, and the Caps will start to turn some of those close losses into victories.
"We've goto to keep going hard,'' Sidhu said.
"All our games have been one-goal losses pretty much. We know we can win. It's just a matter of playing the full 60 (minutes).''
The Caps tangle with the Surrey Eagles Sunday afternoon at Cowichan Arena.
