The curling skins are back.

The Lake Cowichan Home Centre Skins Game will be held on Sunday at the Cowichan Rocks Curling club, with eight teams shooting for $2,200 in cold hard cash.

“It will be a tournament of champions with several past and present B.C. champions in the field,” said organizer Wes Craig of Kerry Park, who is the defending skins champion. “It’s a pretty impressive group of curlers.”

Craig said the teams entered in the competition include the following:

• Dennis Sutton from Cowichan Rocks in Lake Cowichan.

• Former Olympian Georgina Wheatcroft from Cloverdale.

• Former B.C. men’s champion Jay Tuson from Victoria.

• Mixed curling champion and 2009 provincial men’s finalist Jason Montgomery of Duncan.

• Dailene Sivertson of Victoria, 2007 B.C. junior curling champion.

• Josh Hozack of Victoria, B.C. Winter Games silver medalist.

• Nicole Backe of Nanaimo.

The draw times are 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

“It’s back up to a full eight teams, which is great,” said Craig.
