Just Jake’s proved it doesn’t always takes base hits to bring in runs during a Nanaimo Senior Men’s Fastball League doubleheader Tuesday night at the Cowichan Sportsplex.

Jake’s took the second game 4-0 and all four runs scored without the direct benefit of hits.

Ryan Kline tripled in the first inning and scored on a groundout by Jackson Wilson. The same thing happened in the third when Karl Faber, pictured, was hit by a pitch and later scored on a Joey Massingham groundout.

In the fifth, Faber led off with a double and scored on a Kline groundout. Dennis Ewart singled and scored the final run in the sixth on an error.

The first game ended in a 1-1 tie after the time limit. Brad Robinson homered for Jake’s.
