Dear editor
Safety first has been the message I have shared with my children and family for the past 16 years since moving to the Shawnigan Lake area. We are surrounded by water in this area, which makes learning to swim a matter of personal safety.
Having a swimming facility as described in this positive referendum vote would provide as community facility that is long overdue. The south Cowichan area is growing and creating a focal point for community learning around healthy lifestyles will benefit all.
