It’s not the outdoor burning that stings, it’s the woodstoves
Dear editor
As seniors we moved from Victoria to Shawnigan Lake for clean air. It’s not the outdoor burning that is the problem, its all the wood burning stoves. I wake up in the middle of the night coughing. I am so allergic to the wood burning smoke, I cannot go for a walk because the air is full of the smoke. At least with open fires they burn out and its over with, the smoke from the stoves never stops till the weather warms up, if I had of known this I would not have left Victoria.
It would be so nice to sleep with my bedroom window open, but I can't. Even with the window closed it seeps in the house. We are at the bottom of a hill and the smoke just gather's there and it is really posing a health problem for me. Does this bother any one else? I use my compost for everything that is left over in the yard so I don't pollute the air by burning.
