A 47-year-old Shawnigan Lake man has been charged in connection with a marijuana growing operation.
Police said during the early afternoon Tuesday, Shawnigan Lake RCMP executed search warrant at a property in the Shawnigan Lake area.
RCMP officers from North Cowichan/Duncan detachment assisted with the search that netted more than 100 plants in various stages of growth and more than five pounds of marijuana packaged for distribution.
An undisclosed quantity of cash and several firearms were also seized at the home.
The unidentified accused was arrested and faces charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He was released from custody and will appear in Duncan court Jan. 12.
