Two-dozen island artists are headed to Chemainus’ shade-dappled Waterwheel Park for Saturday’s annual Artisans in the Park event.
Ingrid Rennblad of the hosting Chemainus & District Chamber of Commerce says the park will be transformed into an outdoor gallery for the day.
That’s where artisans will show and sell original, multi-media wares spanning glass, silk and other fibres, handcrafted jewelry in copper and silver, pottery, wrought iron pieces, wood carvings, watercolors, acrylics and more.
“No merchandise can be sold at our show,” she explained.
“It’s artisans selling their own work.”
Many artisans from Cowichan will be joined by their creative colleagues from Port Alberni, Parksville, Vancouver, Nanaimo and elsewhere.
Plans for kids’ activities are also being made, she said.
