Alberni skaters excel at Island regionals

Eight Port Alberni skaters under coach Jan Norman participated in the Vancouver Island Regionals in Nanaimo this past weekend.
Maigan Devries took the artistic award in her elementary group, Abby Broekhuizen silver and Reghan Geddes bronze in their respective Canskate groups.
Kennedy Lavertu won gold in preliminary, Lauren Fines bronze in junior bronze, Kristen Frankow fourth and Danika Geddes seventh in senior bronze.
Eric Streichsbier and Fines performed their dance programs for the judges. This was a warm up for their sectional competition for B.C. next month in Richmond.
“I am proud of all the kids” Norman said.
“They represented us well.”
