No search, just training in skies over Port Alberni

People who spotted a CC-115 Buffalo aircraft from 442 Search and Rescue squadron flying the skies over Port Alberni on Tuesday can rest easy: they were only doing some training flights.
"They do regular training almost daily," said Sgt. Eileen Redding, a public affairs officer at Canadian Forces Base Comox, where the search and rescue squadron is based.
The Canadian Forces School of Search and Rescue (CFSSAR) just graduated a class of new search and rescue technicians, or SAR techs last week, and on-the-job training has begun, she added.
The SAR techs sometimes use the Alberni Valley Regional Airport for parachute jumping practice.
"There were certainly no missions to report," Redding said.
