WEB EXTRA- Candidates announced for mayor and city council

It's a four-way race for mayor, nine candidates are vying for city council and a familiar face isn't running again.

The city's chief electoral officer Russel Dyson released the name of the candidates after Friday's deadline of 4 p.m. passed.

Incumbent Ken McRae is running for his term as mayor. Other candidates for the position include Jen fisher-Bradley, Jacques Savard and Derek Appleton.

For council, incumbents Hira Chopra, Jack McLeman, Cindy solda, Ike Patterson and Kenn Whiteman are seeking another term.

Charles Mealey did not file papers, and is not running for council again.

Also challenging for council positions are Alice Schoffer, Gary Robertson, John Douglas and Danny Jones.

The election takes place Nov. 15.
