Police search for trailer suspect

Nanaimo RCMP are on the hunt for a Nanaimo woman wanted in connection with a trailer stolen in Port Alberni last spring.

Heather Leah Newstead is wanted in connection with a stolen travel trailer. The 10-metre 1996 Wilderness travel trailer was stolen from Port Alberni in May.

Nanaimo RCMP discovered the trailer when they searched a property on Monroe Road in early September.

“Investigators are satisfied Newstead was living in the trailer,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman.

Newstead is 5’2” in height and weighs about 180 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information about her is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
