A group promoting a third Evergreen Line station on the west side of Port Moody wants city council to be more vocal on the topic.
In a press release, the Port Moody Western Station Committee is calling on the Mayor Joe Trasolini and councillors to follow Coquitlam's lead and actively lobby for a station.
Using Canada Post figures, the group estimates more than 8,300 residents would be bypassed if there's no station on the west end of town. The group also says it has a 600-name petition calling for a third station.
"Since we started telling the community about losing this station, the reaction has been overwhelming," said Robert Simons, a spokesperson for the group.
