Northeast Coquitlam development on public hearing agenda
Public hearings are to be held next week at Coquitlam city hall on three topics.

Coquitlam residents will get their chance to weigh in next week on a 35-unit residential development on Galloway Avenue and Coast Meridian Road.
The item will come before council for a public hearing on Monday, Oct. 26 along with several other bylaws the city is deliberating.
The area is currently zoned for single-family lots but because the area is environmentally sensitive, the developer is asking for a new designation.
A creek runs through the property and city staff believe plans submitted by HY Engineering would mitigate risks to an environmentally sensitive area. Instead of single-family homes the proposed development would feature mid-density housing and be pedestrian-oriented.
HEAR THIS, TOO
Also at the public hearing, residents can comment on the cold-wet weather mat program as well as a bylaw amendment for property 277 Schoolhouse St. and 1360 Glenbrook St.
The public hearing will be held Monday, Oct. 26 in council chambers at 7 p.m. Those who wish to speak can register by phone at 604-927-3010 or fax at 604-927-3015.
Everyone will be permitted to speak but those who register will be given first opportunity.
The regular council meeting will begin following the public hearing.
