Coquitlam RCMP are asking for the public's help in finding a former resident of the Forensic Psychiatric Institute.

Gregory Owen Schleen, 47, is a resident of the Coast Cottages, which helps Colony Farm residents transition into the community once they are at a low risk of re-offending. Schleen left the program on a day pass on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at about 11 a.m. and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Police have information that Schleen may have gone to Buntzen Lake or to Trout Lake in Vancouver.

He is described as six feet tall, 250 pounds with shaggy brown hair and blue eyes. He has an eagle tattoo on his right arm and may be carrying a backpack with a towel.

Anyone who sees Schleen is asked to call police at 604-945-1550.
