Construction has begun at the intersection of the Mary Hill Bypass and United Boulevard in Coquitlam this week as crews continue to work on the Port Mann/Highway 1 Improvement Project.

The work is expected to last for approximately two to three months and will facilitate the building of the abutment for the new bridge.

Night time lane closures will be necessary to allow for the relocation of utilities, which is the first stage of the process.

According to a press release from the province at least one lane will remain open at all times during construction and motorists are asked to be alert and to watch flag persons for temporary stoppages.
