WRITE YOUR OWN STORY

Glen Pine Pavilion, a Coquitlam recreation facility for people 50 and older, is hosting a story writing workshop on Wednesdays from Oct. 28 to Nov. 18.

The workshop will help participants write stories from their own lives. They’ll learn easy strategies to prompt their memories and some successful tricks to make it interesting and vivid for them, their families and descendants. No experience is necessary.

The workshop is sponsored by a TEACH — New Horizons for Seniors Grant and facilitated by Diana Cruchley, a Coquitlam resident, teacher and award-winning author (Governor General’s Flight to Freedom Literacy).

The program fee is $31, $21 for Dogwood or Glen Pine Pavilion members. Participants must bring a notebook and pencil and classes run from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

For more information, call 604-927-6940.

Glen Pine Pavilion is located at 1200 Glen Pine Crt., behind Coquitlam city hall.
