Spring's was such a hit that the people behind The Best of BC Wines Uncorked are at it again, this time with a fall festival.
"We actually turned people away," said wine educator John Gerum. This time around, there's a bigger venue in the Port Moody city hall galleria that should provide a smoother flow from table to table.
The basic idea's the same — the chance to sip, taste and compare samplings from more than 20 Okanagan wineries offering more than 50 different varietals — but the Nov. 7 event will feature something new as well. Anyone who'd like to also sample some top California wines can attend the VIP preview tasting upstairs in the Brovold Room, where there will also be cheeses from Les Amis du Fromage and goodies from PoMo's Eden West Fine Foods.
"If you like B.C. wines you should definitely be here," Gerum said. Participants can't buy wines at the tasting but there will be information on local suppliers. "It's like going to the Okanagan without having to leave Port Moody."
• Tickets for Fall Festival: The Best of BC Wines Uncorked (6:30 to 9:30 p.m.) are $40 and $50 for the VIP tasting (5:30 to 6:30 p.m.), available at bcuncorked.ca or 604-931-2008.
