School may be back and fall may be close behind but Coquitlam Farmers Market still has lots of great family activities planned.
This Sunday, Sept. 20 will be Kids Day at the market and will feature live entertainment and demonstrations from local groups.
This action-packed day includes martial arts demonstrations by Yuen’s Martial Arts, children’s yoga demonstration by Hola Yoga and airbrush tattoos by Mystic Art. You can also learn how to protect your children with the Coquitlam Community Police Department and its Child ID program.
In the market community tent, the VanDusen Master Gardeners will have a display and the group Chapter 11 will provide musical entertainment.
Entrepreneurial youngsters will be on hand selling their locally made treasures and those who want to be a vendor for a day can still get involved by calling or emailing the Coquitlam Farmers Market at info@makebakegrow.com or 604-318-8966.
Also this week is the deadline for registering in the Best Pie in Town Contest, which takes place Sunday, Sept. 27. This is the second year of the contest, which will also feature a visit by Barbara-Jo MacIntosh of Books for Cooks who will be one of the judges of the pie contest.
Prizes will be offered and the Pie Contest is open to all amateur pie bakers. Registration information will be available at the information tent this Sunday.
