Check out... salamanders

You can discover the amazing world of salamanders — the shy, timid amphibians that spend their childhood in the water and their adulthood in the forest — next weekend at Belcarra Regional Park. Join Metro Vancouver park interpreters Oct. 18 to search for and learn about these intriguing amphibians that hide by day under leaf litter, and hunt insects and worms in the dark. The program runs from 10 a.m. to noon and everyone six years and older is welcome. The cost is $7.50 for adults, $4 for children, youth and seniors, and $20 for families.
