Free 'thank you' meal for Canadian vets, armed forces personnel

Veterans and members of the Canadian Forces on active duty will be remembered and thanked by their local Applebees Restaurant on Remembrance Day.
On Nov. 11, veterans and those on active duty with proof of Canadian Forces service can select a complimentary entrée, complete with traditional sides. The meals include house steak, three-cheese chicken penne, fiesta lime chicken, chipotle bacon burger, chicken fingers platter and oriental chicken salad.
"Remembrance Day is a critically important day across Canada," said Russ Ewy, Applebee's Canadian marketing manager. "Being able to thank our veterans and active members of the Canadian Forces is a privilege. We recognize and honour these Canadian men and women.
In Port Coquitlam, Applebees Neighbourhood Grill and Bar is located at 2325 Ottawa St.
