Pumpkin ’Cross coming
Published: October 09, 2008 6:00 PMPumpkin ’Cross, the notorious Halloween-themed B.C. Cup bicycle race is just around the bend. Be sure to check out what the clamor is all about on Sunday, October 26 at Albion Park in Maple Ridge. Action starts at 10 a.m.
In addition to hours of racing excitement, there will be prizes, costumes, food, and a free kid’s race.
B.C.’s best elite riders will do battle in this high-paced, spectator friendly cyclocross race, which will see competitors push their limits in an intense multi-lap off-road contest. Riders will face obstacles on the course, and be forced to shoulder their bikes and run while gasping for breath and trying to stay ahead of the competition.
“Some of the best cyclocross racers in the province live right here in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows,” said race organizer Barry Lyster. “They need the support of their hometown fans to give them the full home turf advantage.”
