Sick, those who said yes to prostitution

Re: Should prostitution be decriminalized (Question of the week, Oct. 9).
At first I thought it was a joke: “Should prostitution be decriminalized?” as a poll question, with the majority answering “yes.” But I read it again and reflected on the answer. What kind of sick answer is that? Are you people serious? Who are you – prostitutes? – and why are your heads twisted into promoting unhealthy and immoral sex? Like helping the spiraling descent of what morals are left in our society? Because you answer yes to this question, or you cowardly support it, you must take some sick pleasure in embracing the carnal, primitive, and sinister side which is unfortunately still part of our human nature.
It is because of you that we’ll never grow and that we continue to fester in a pool of rape, murder, and selfishness. Spreading the diseases scientists toil to get rid of, do we really need to end up in the dark ages again?
And if any of you are married, well, I suppose that’s unfortunate. The adultery certainty wouldn’t get any better with hoards of ready prostitutes scrounging around.
And it sure doesn’t help the already butchered concept of love. And wait till you can tell your kids.
I had this thought when I was younger that adults were supposed to be educated, moral, and wise people. I guess none of you who answered yes are. Give me one good reason why you said yes, I would even sit down and talk to you about this. If you believe there are any sound reasons behind answering yes, prove it.
That the Netherlands has what one might call a progressive system of intercourse-exchange does not validate any argument defending legalized prostitution. This filthy act promotes drug-use, violence, criminality via looseness, and, as already claimed, an easy escape through immoral pleasure.
