I can’ believe all the whining and outrage at Gordon Campbell and the provincial Liberals since the last election.

I have to ask myself what has changed – the Liberals were suckling at the public B.C. Rail trough within a month of being elected eight years ago and still haven’t been held to account for that yet. How many have had to resign or quit under a cloud of quilt or suspicion? They have consistently told lies, half-truths, hidden and omitted actions and illegal activities, broke legal contracts and just about abused every law and group in this province. Even calling themselves Liberals is a lie.

I am a Liberal and these people are to the right of the Fraser Institute on most issues, or haven’t you noticed? I have to wonder who you voted for or did you vote at all, did you vote for the STV so you might have had a different choice.

I can’t believe how many letters say, ‘Well, yes they are scum, but the NDP is worse.’

The truth is politicians know it doesn’t matter what they do or how corrupt or unethical they behave; they tell you what you want to hear and once elected they do as they please, which is mostly to enrich themselves and a few close friends; they know they have four years of dictatorship before we can do anything about it anyway, and obviously most of you can’t remember what they did last month let alone four years from now.

Besides, in four years there will be a new, better brand, a new dictator and this latest outrage will be either forgiven or more likely forgotten.

Sadly, it seems that the vast majority of politicians at this time in history are unethical, morally bankrupt, scoundrels or worse, and they know if they can absolutely totally disgust you that they can possibly get you to join the growing legions that just don’t vote at all any more, which suits them just fine, as they could care less how many citizens vote as long as they get to be dictator and control the wealth of this province for another four years.

I guess we do deserve the governments we get.
