Pedestrian hit by van in Maple Ridge

A 12-year-old girl was hit by a van Friday morning in Maple Ridge.

The collision took place on Dewdney Trunk Road, just west of Acadia Street, at about 11 a.m. Police said the girl was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Vancouver with "unknown, but thought to be non-life threatening injuries."

At this time the woman driving the van has not been charged. Ridge Meadows RCMP are still investigating the matter.
