Stop by the ACT for a Christmas hoe-down Sunday.

The seventh annual Country Christmas Concert will feature organizers Kevin Assoun and Rob Hess, as well as Karen Lee Batton, Dewberry Country, Danielle Foulds, The Gospel Connection, Rockin Rick, Smith & Jones and the Davie Jones Elementary School Choir.

This year, the concert will raise funds for Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Community Services’ Meals on Wheels program and seniors’ outreach, a service that had its funding cancelled by Fraser Health this year.

Last year’s concert raised $13,000 and the silent auction raised $4,200. Community Services is hoping to meet or beat that amount this year.

The silent auction is open to anyone, not just ticket holders.

Anyone interested in bidding in the silent auction can go to the ACT foyer between 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to make their bids. Silent auction items include airline tickets from Bellingham to Los Angeles, three one-night stays in downtown Vancouver and various gift baskets.

• A Country Christmas takes place Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12.

The intermission will also features small ensemble performances by MRSS music students, as well as a silent auction.

• The concerts take place at the ACT Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 for adults, $9.50 for seniors and students.
