Updated: October 20, 2009 4:43 PM
The Arts Club Series launches at the ACT with a musical look at what we do for love in The Thing About Men! tells an over-the-top tale of how far we’ll go to win back the ones we love.
The thing about Tom is that he loves his wife, Lucy, even though he’s having a fling with his secretary.
The thing about Lucy is that she’s fallen in love with Sebastian.
Toss in some unlikely roommates and a gorilla mask and this saucy musical-comedy tells an over-the-top tale of how far we’ll go to win back the ones we love.
• The Thing About Men! plays the ACT Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. For tickets, visit 604-476-- 2787 or visit www.theactmapleridge.org.
The show—once simply called Men—is based on the German filmmaker Doris Dörrie’s 1985 movie Männer (“Men”). Winner of the 2004 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, the show ran for more than 200 performances.
The Arts Club Theatre Company, now in its 46th season, is the largest theatre company in Western Canada, offering the best in professional theatre at each of their three venues—the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage, Granville Island Stage, and Revue Stage—as well as on tour throughout the province.
