Updated: June 30, 2009 2:10 PM
There is nothing more Canadian than the RCMP Musical Ride.
This August, the Ridge Meadows RCMP detachment is celebrating its 58th anniversary and has invited all the members, staff and their families, who at one time served in either the Haney or Ridge Meadows detachment, to join them for a four-day reunion.
The RCMP Musical Ride will be performing two shows (1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.) on Aug. 18 at the Albion Fairgrounds.
The tickets are $10 each and will be available to local residents on a first-come first-served basis.
Tickets can be purchased this year at the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Country Fest office, which is situated centrally at the fairgrounds. Tickets will be available to be purchased beginning July 6.
In addition to the RCMP Musical Ride, the two shows will also include performances by the RCMP “E” Division Pipe Band and a demonstration of the RCMP Service Dogs canine division.
Showgoers are reminded to bring their cameras, because after the show visitors are invited to meet and greet the officers, and they can take photos with the RCMP members and their magnificent horses
The Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Agricultural Association and The Golden Ears Club of Kiwanis are proud to assist with the organization of the two performances.
The Musical Ride is co-ordinated on a national level, and performs every summer in communities all across the country.
