Computer stolen from dance school

A computer and monitor were stolen Wednesday from a dance school in Maple Ridge.
Police were alerted to the theft after an alarm at the school sounded at 6:30 a.m.
The front door lock was removed to gain entry.
Nothing else inside the business was disturbed.
Shoplifting charges
A Vancouver resident faces theft charges after being arrested Tuesday for stealing from a Maple Ridge store.
Security at Zeller’s spotted the 29-year-old woman around 1 p.m. attempting to steal a number of DVDs.
Police were called and took the woman into custody after identifying her.
RCMP Supt. Dave Walsh said the 29-year-old woman is well known for similar offences in Vancouver.
She was released with a court appearance set for December.
Schools targeted
A pair of elementary schools in Maple Ridge were targeted this week by thieves.
The first break-in happened around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Ridge elementary, in the 20800 block of River Road.
Thieves gained entry to the building by smashing a window on a door. A television was stolen from the school before the thieves ran off.
The second theft happened just after 6 a.m. Wednesday at Albion elementary on 240th Street.
Thieves got into the school by breaking a window. A projector was stolen.
Police are asking for the public help to identify the thieves and say they have no suspects in either incident.

Man beaten
A man was taken to hospital Monday after being assaulted in Maple Ridge by three other men.
Ridge Meadows RCMP said the assault took place at a home in the 13200 block of 233rd Street around 7:20 p.m.
Three men beat up the man, who lives in a basement suite of the house.
The injured man was taken to Ridge Meadows Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspects are described as Asian. All three wore hooded sweatshirts with the hoods pulled up.
They were seen driving off in a white pickup with a canopy, possibly a Ford.
Car crash
Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday in Maple Ridge.
The accident happened on Dewdney Trunk Road just before 9 p.m., when a pickup truck travelling west collided with a car making a left turn onto 228th Street.
The injured passengers were in the car making the left turn.
Both vehicles sustained front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Trailer stolen
A trailer was stolen Friday from a work site in Maple Ridge was found two days later.
The utility trailer went missing from a property 240th Street.
It was recovered on Monday at 9 p.m. a block away, on 239th Street outside a house.
