Six local water polo players played for provincial teams which posted top four finishes at the Hawaiian Invitational Tournament Aug. 4-9.
Taylor Venner of Surrey was on both the boys under-18 team which placed first, and the under-16 squad which finished second. Vance Winder of Delta was a member of the B.C. under-18 team, while Delta’s Stuart van Niekerk played for the under-16 squad.
Surrey’s Katelin Knapp and North Delta’s Gurpreeet Sohi also participated on two teams, placing third with the under-16 girls team, and finishing fourth in the under-18 age group. Also on the under-16 team was Hannah Cox of Surrey.
