Former Surrey Ram Sean Whyte has been named the Gibson’s Finest Special Teams Player of the Week.

The kicker for the B.C. Lions was connected on field goals of 44, 42, 33 and 19 yards in last Friday’s 35-20 Canadian Football League win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders at B.C. Place Whyte also had eight kickoffs for 449 yards and six punts for 238 yards.

Whyte signed with the Lions after veteran kicker Paul McCallum - also a former Surrey Ram - was injured in the second game of the season.
