Canadians claim provincial title

Surrey won the semifinal game 8-5, and went on to clinch the championship with a 10-4 win over the Richmond Chuckers.

The host team from the Surrey Canadian Baseball Association cruised to the Mosquito AAA Tier II provincial championship, winning six games by an average of nine runs.
Surrey scored 42 runs in four round robin games, then defeated Tsawwassen 8-5 in Sunday’s semifinal, and topped Cloverdale 13-5 in the final at Lionel Courchene Park.
Team members were Jordan Baxter, Matt Diamantakis, Ryan Volpe, Shaun Simpson, Nick Phelan, Rhett Bussey, Deacon Legris, Ben Arends, Ethan Sorensen, Bradley Stacey, Brendan Gerbert and Braden Breen.
Dale Baxter was the head coach, and was assisted by coaches Kevin Phelan, Dave Breen and Mark Arends.
