After a disappointing loss against the Coquitlam Adanacs on Sunday night, the Surrey Rebels turned it around dramatically Monday, thumping the visiting Langley Warrriors 16-5 and ending the regular West Coast Junior Lacrosse League season with a convincing win.

Langley opened the scoring less than two minutes in, but Rebel Curt Callard scored the first of six game goals just a few minutes later. It was the beginning of the end for Langley as Callard scored again just minutes later off Tommy Tran and Cory Southcott.

The Warriors tied the game twice, but Sean O'Beirn then netted the first of five he'd contribute to the Rebels effort during the game and Callard followed up with another to make it 5-3 heading into the first period.

O'Beirn picked up where he started and scored less than a minute into the second. Callard scored again, followed by Alex Kos, to increase Surrey's lead to five.

In the final frame, the Rebels went on a 7-0 run, with goals from Tyler Voisey, Braden Wilkins, Callard and O'Beirn. Chris Martin blasted in his 39th goal of the season, O'Beirn picked up his final goal of the game and 19th of the year with just under 13 minutes left to play and Callard potted his 60th of the season. Langley managed to score twice more before the game's end, but it wasn't enough to stop the Rebels on the way to a lopsided victory.

The night before was quite a different story for Surrey as they were beaten by the Coquitlam Adanacs 7-2 and outshot 66-28.

Last week, the Rebels logged their first shutout in their four-year history, knocking off the Richmond Roadrunners 8-0. A few days later, Surrey beat Richmond again, but the Rebels were clapped by the Port Moody Thunder 16-4 the next night.

The Rebels finished the season 14-5-1 (wins-losses-ties) and currently sit in fourth place in the 11-team league. The next home game is the playoff opener July 13, 8 p.m. at Cloverdale Arena.
