Slow down on Nordel
Updated: October 27, 2009 4:58 PM
If drivers would slow down even to the posted speed limit (60 km/h), oncoming cars and trucks would be able to stop in most cases of need.
I avoid Nordel Way whenever possible, but when I do travel on it, I observe average speeds near 80 km/h and well over that, popping in and out of lanes, no signals of course. No wonder people are being injured and killed. Also, the speed limit for the 88 Avenue/Nordel portion in Surrey is posted at 50 km/h, with the same situation.
Where is the enforcement? Why do adult drivers need enforcement? Don’t they know the posted limits are there based on road design, stopping needs, etc., and when they ignore those limits, they place themselves and every one around them in a compromising position?
It seems a large number of drivers are in a hurry to the light ahead, which just turned red. Roads are not accident-prone, bad drivers and those near them are.
